These days, Katia and Marielle Labèque are more ubiquitous than the Harlem Shake.
This month's Architectural Digest profiles the French pianist sisters' 2br, 17th century Rome palazzo where they've been living since 2005 (video clip here).
A quick flight from Rome to Paris' FW2013 RTW shows, where the sisters have been both performers and guests.
Late last week, on cheek-to-cheek Steinways, they played Philip Glass on Nina Ricci's Paris runway in black chiffon gowns and black stilettos.
From WWD:
Labèque said she was initially afraid the noise of camera shutters would distract her, but by the end of her performance, she was oblivious to outside noise. “You end up getting used to it. In some concert halls, there is horrible noise from the air conditioning,” she noted.
Last night, Marielle sat front row at Givenchy (sans partner Semyon Bychkov...Katia's partner is French musician/producer David Chalmin) between celebs Mario Testino, Nicole Richie and Kanye West/Kim Kardashian. Leave it to fashion to level the playing field: the Kardashians and the Labèques.
