Classical music and politics don't particularly mix, as of late, but Italian maestro Alberto Veronesi -- Opera Chic liked his "Edgar" with Placidone -- has decided to run for office in today's local election here in Milan (Italy is voting for the EU Parliament and a variety of local, generally minor elections). The city has been heavily decorated by posters of the maestro, in white tie, tails and baton, and his slogan -- FA, RE., a pretty lame pun on the notes and the Italian verb "fare", ie, to do.
Best wishes to the pragmatic, musical candidate.
