Grigolo in Armani, Trebs in Dolce & Gabbana, Flórez in Ermenegildo Zegna and Renée in Ferré/Miyake/de la Renta -- opera singers have been stepping up their fashion cred substatially -- and for her upcoming disc, Drama Queens, Joyce DiDonato sourced Vivienne Westwood. The British doyenne of high-fashion punk created a bespoke gown for DiDonato, modeled on the CD cover, to be worn on November 18 at Carnegie Hall for the mezzo's Drama Queens-inspired recital. Launching on November 6th, the disc celebrates rarely-heard Baroque arias by composers such as Haendel, Haydn, Monteverdi and Orlandini.
