British-born, Paris-based Gareth Pugh, designer of eponymous fashion-as-costume remixes, premieres his costumes for The Royal Opera House's Royal Ballet production/premiere of Carbon Life tomorrow night. Above, a preview.
Pugh is joined by the Royal Ballet's Resident Choreographer Wayne McGregor, whose moves are set to Mark Ronson's and Andrew Wyatt's music for a work "with pop and fashion as the theme".
Carbon Life premieres as part of a triptych of dance ensembles with Polyphonia and Sweet Violets.
We don't know it'll look onstage but here it reminds us of the Philippe Starck + Alessi Juicy Salif juicer.
