The 2011 program for Maggio Musicale Fiorentino has been unveiled earlier today and it's so full of awesome one could get totally obsessivo perusing its booklet: from Pizzi directing Monteverdi to talented film director Ferzan Ozpetek (above, Riccardo Scamarcio in Ozepetek's film "Mine vaganti") in his opera debut with Aida to Bill Friedkin creeping us out with the Makropulos Case, from E-Pek to Wayne Marshall. Then Rudolf Buchbinder will buszt some Liszt, and there's Conlon and Barenboim and Bychkov's War Requiem.
