Opera Chic is totally excited by "Black Swan", the new Darren Aronofsky film -- maybe it won't be as unforgettable as the most amazing ballet film ever, "The Red Shoes", but that's setting the bar way too high. Ballet is a fantastic topic and OC will always be grateful to Darren for bringing to the screen one of the greatest American novels of the last century anyway.
Well, the movie was just unveiled at the Venice Film Festival, and the buzz surrounding it is good, but there's someone who really, really, really hated the film: Carla Fracci.
Crankier than Franco Zeffirelli, the unsinkable ballerina was quoted in today's Corriere della Sera giving Darren & Nata a lot of thumbs down:
"An absurd film, that renders a terrible service to the ballet world".
They're not quoting her in the trailer, actually.
