Saturday kicked off the L.A. Opera opening of Der Ring des Nibelungen with Das Rheingold, while Sunday continued with Die Walküre (Placidone's Siegmund and Maestro Conlon on the podium) for designer/producer Achim Freyer's light-infused vision.
The Los Angeles Opera had their pick of guests and ticket holders for the historic event, but the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion was honored last weekend by someone OC would trill her panties for...

That's a Bingo!
Baddest of the bad-a$$e$, Christoph Waltz, the Austrian actor who managed to steal the spotlight from Brad Pitt (GORLAMI!) as Hans Landa in last year's Tarantino hit, Inglourious Basterds, was in the audience for the Los Angeles Opera Ring cycle. In the photo above he's backstage at Die Walküre's with Achim Freyer. We also heard that Quentin Tarantino joined Christoph Waltz for the evening (no photos, unfortunately). We really don't see how it could have gotten any cooler (barring an appearance by Michael Haneke or Peter Beard or Kate Lanphear).
Now watch Der Humpink. Because it is epic.
