Actually, we lied: lady looks like a dude! It's Czech mezzo Magdalena Kožená aesthetically suffering for her beloved art. She's singing Lazuli in Emmanuel Chabrier's L'etoile, which opens on May 16 and is conducted by hubby Sir Simon Rattle at Berlin's Staatsoper Unter Den Linden. Kožená is flanked by Colombian-born soprano Juanita Lascarro and French tenor Jean-Paul Fouchécourt.
