OC was flipping through the latest German Vogue March 2010 issue -- with Claudia Schiffer posing as monobrowed goddess muse, Frieda Kahlo, photographed by grumpy genius Karl Lagerfeld -- glazing over the bright colors of Spring's impending silhouettes and moster platforms.
While our classical music deities are found weekly in concert programs and newspapers, OC's bright eyes love to find the crossover to fashion. Dudamel did it this summer. And Juan Diego Flórez did it back in 2007. Now the latest classical idol to flutter between the glossy pages of Vogue is the American conductor (with the European heart), disciple of Christoph Eschenbach and Lenny B.: Maestro John Axelrod.
In a feature, "Jam Session" with jazzmatazzer Herbie Hancock, the two talked about their 2009 collaboration world tour (sans Lang²) where they presented an accessible, populist program of Mozart, Ravel, Bernstein, and Gershwin.
