For Cecilia Bartoli's hardcore contingent of Manhattan fans, (le) poisson rouge is throwing a free reception and film screening to celebrate the launch of her new CD, Sacrificium, in NYC's West Village. On November 16 -- although Ceci won't be there in person to welcome the castrati-fetishists -- (le) poisson rouge will screen a film with highlights from a live Italy concert (from September 10, 2009) where the Italian diva sang tracks from her new CD. A special cocktail "The Castratini" will be served, 'tho OC's afraid to even guess the ingredients.
Ceci's Castrati CD just dropped, although if you're having buyer's indecision, you can first sample a dozen Sacrificium tracks on NPR's First Listen.
