Milanese maestro (and Internazionale FC fan) Daniele Gatti takes over Opernhaus Zurich.
He succeeds Franz Welser-Möst.
Since that elusive Scala job does not seem to get any closer for our Gattone, Opera Chic fully endorses his choice to take the Zurich job -- at last year's badly booed Don Carlo, the unlucky season opener at la Scala, Opera Chic actually liked Gatti's shapely sound and his concertazione. OC is looking forward to his Lulu (directed by Peter Stein) at Scala next season. And our Swiss friends are in for quite a few treats, they hired one of the good ones.
(thanks to Marcello, Annelise, et al for the heads up)
