Guys...GUYS I might be suffering from a bad hallucination brought on by poorly digested cassoeula, because I still can't believe what I'm about to post. Ok, deep breaths:
Our beloved Plácido Domingo has expanded his repertory into the uncharted, shark-infested waters of Michael Eisner's Walt Disney Co., voicing a mangy mutt in a new, animated feature called Beverly Hills Chihuahua [warning: embedded music filez]. More like "Beverly Hills ChihahahahaHA"!
BHC had it's world premiere a few days ago at Los Angeles's El Capitan Theatre, but plebeians will have to find the god-like willpower to wait until October 3, 2008 when the movie officially drops in the theaters.
Plácido Domingo voices Monte, a canine who forms a team with two other strays. Joining The Doming0r are the voices of Drew Barrymore, Andy Garcia, George Lopez, Cheech Marin, and Jamie Lee Curtis. ugh. I couldn't even sit through the trailer to see if The Domingus makes an appearance. Someone tell me how many times the chihuahua pewps in this movie. At least this was a good lesson in getting down the proper spelling of 'chahwahwah'.
We'd like to be the first to congratulate Placidone for rounding out his resume. The only thing that keeps us from giving him static is this first picture of him with his granddaughter. But we'll be ready for the next time he doesn't bring his adorable, mercy-enducing decoy. Enjoy the rest of the pictures from the opening:
