A terrible blow has been delivered in the turf war between Cher and the ghost of Judy Garland to determine who's the biggest icon of them all. Their L.A. homes have ended simultanously on the market and, at press time, Cher beats Dorothy 45-5. Cher's Malibu insane palazzo will set you back a cool 45 million dollars.
Garland's (and, later, Sammy Davis jr's) Hollywood Hills home -- a modest, by Hollywood superstar standards, 5,000-square-foot main house plus a guesthouse, 5 bedrooms and 7 1/2 bathrooms in total -- will only cost you a pretty reasonable $4,995,000.
Now, money talks, and unless Madonna shows up and decides to upstage her rivals, and even if Cher has to scale down a bit her price, it appears that we have a winner -- the crazy lady in the glitter costume.
Speaking of iconic homes in L.A., Opera Chic is conflicted -- we really love Modernism, but since Benny Taschen is not selling our favorite, we'd settle on the Stravinsky home that E-Pek once almost bought.
