Happily, MiTo, the Milan-Turin classical music festival that begins next Monday and closes on the 27, is selling out tickets for most of the top performances, and even the (relatively) weaker concerts in the program (direct download, .pdf file) are doing great: among the names of the orchestras, conductors and performers, Filarmonica della Scala conducted by Daniele Gatti, Gewandhaus orchestra conducted by Riccardo Chailly, Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Riccardo Muti, Staatskapelle Dresden with Fabio Luisi; Hélène Grimaud; Bayerisches Staatsorchester with Kent Nagano, the Prague Philharmonic with George Pehlivanian and violinist Maxim Vengerov; the Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Charles Dutoit with Martha Argerich at the piano. And many others.
Oh, and MiTo will have podcasts as well.
