Congratulazioni to Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, because the august Tuscan institution's box office is makin' mad skrilla, and we're all better for it: the pre-sale of subscriptions for the 2007-2008 opera season has raked a clean + 20% (almost 4,000 now vs 3,400 last season), making the revenue shoot up to 918,595 euros (little more than 800,000 last season); more than 225,000 euros worth of (circa 10K) tickets have also been pre-sold already.
And the young peoples are flocking to Maggio Musicale: 300 MaggioCards (the discount pass for people under 26) have been sold already, and 551 kids have bought advance tickets.
The lucky duckies will listen to Mehta, Ozawa, Oren, Conlon, Pollini; full schedule and info here.
