Now, Opera Chic is always delighted whenever people all over the Internets lift her stuff and copy-and-paste it on their own site without attribution -- it happens a lot during flareups of the Alagna/Gheorghiu family, and it's nice -- the Internet is about sharing, aiight?
But, kids, whenever you steal our stuff, especially verbatim quotes from our Italian press translations, at least do it quick! -- we're not asking that, say, Playbill Arts links us (that HTML anchor tags and stuff is mighty hard to do, and we don't really need PA's traffic anyway) or even thet they just name us (even if we always dig shoutouts).
We've been alerted in the mail this morning -- as we were wondering over latte macchiato, Pupi Solari summer dress (it's mighty hot here already, kids) or Thomas Pink white shirt and Siwy Jeans? We're definitely wearing Tod's shoes anyway, no heels this morning tyvm -- that this Playbill Arts story, filed by one Michael S. Markowitz, lifts our "Angela Speaks!" powst from April 6, BUT published it 11 days later!!!
Now, we're not saying this Michael S. Markovitz is necessarily a plagiarist, he just copied-and-pasted our translation verbatim without attribution, it happens a lot (especially, we have noticed these last few months, in the British broadsheets: naughty naughty, we'd spank you but we're afraid you'd love it you bad British boys!) -- our beef is that sometimes they give our (unattributed) stuff to their readers way, way too late!
Steal our stuff faster, kids!
Especially since Opera Chic is now heading to a lunch date where she's about to learn, hopefully, some ginormously important news on the whole Angela Gheorghiu vs Roma and vs Scala thing, with a Lorin Maazel bonus on top, hopefully!
