Who needs Santa Claus?
Maestro Riccardo Muti gave his first-ever concert with the Philharmonia Orchestra at Fairfield Halls,Croydon on 2 December 1972. His powerful reading of Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition that evening signalled the start of a special relationship with the Philharmonia that in the intervening years has flourished and enriched the concert-going experience for Philharmonia audiences around the world. We are thrilled that Muti includes once again Ravel's brilliantly orchestrated version of Mussorgsky's masterpiece to mark his 35th Anniversary with the Orchestra.
We're so there. In the meantime (ie 9 months and 20 days), this will do.
