Opera Chic may not be the biggest fan of Ferruccio "I Got Teh Powah" Furlanetto, but she is very happy to read that the US premiere of his Boris Godunov has gone well at the San Diego Opera. Actually, it has gone very well: FF is the only Italian to ever sing Boris at the glorious Mariinsky, and -- esp. after listening to a Maggio Musicale Fiorentino 2005 performance by Furlanetto in this role -- Opera Chic is happy to give to our huggalicious maestro her official OC endorsement.
