Yesterday, Filarmonica della Scala announced its 2013-14 season comprised of ten concerts, which kicks off on November 4 under Georges Prete in an event to memorialize the 50th death anniversiary of Francis Poulenc.
The 2013-14 baton brotherhood includes Myung-Whun Chung, Chailly (with the Wiener Phil), Salonen, Gergiev, Harding, Luisi and Eschenbach. Barenboim multi-tasks on piano & podium and the novelty novice is German conductor David Afkham. We're sorry to say that we won't be batting (fake Shisiedo) lashes over soloists. The orchestra packs up for twenty concerts, including Spoleto for the Festival dei Due Mondi and Parma's Verdi Festival.
