Carlo Maria Badini, 1925-2007

Sad news for la Scala: former General Manager (Sovrintendente) Carlo Maria Badini, who ran the theatre from 1977 to 1990, died today in Bologna.

During his reign (he was the successor of Paolo Grassi), la Scala staged some quintessential productions such as Claudio Abbado's Wozzeck (Luca Ronconi director) and Riccardo Muti's first Nozze di Figaro at la Scala (Giorgio Strehler director).
