We previously posted about the Bayerische Staatsoper's new production ofL'elisir d'amoreby David Bösch which premiered on December 1 with Giuseppe Filianoti as Nemorino.
Here and herewe brought you media, but we've been gifted with one more previously unseen photo -- a NSFW image straight out of Courtney Love's Doll Parts, co-dependent, dysfunctional, zombie brides who want to feast on Giuseppe Filianoti's underwear!
One week ago, Opera Chic made her inaugural trip to the Nationaltheater München -- where the Bayerische Staatsoper bats at home -- to catch Gatti's sublime control of the Verdi masterpiece, Aida, and to get caught-up in the inevitable drama that followed Angela Gheorghiu singing the lead role in Verdi's La Traviata.
The opera theater crowns the spacious Max
Joseph Platz and the monolith contains endless glass chandeliers,
gold leaf accents throughout, and polished marble floors. OC was right at home.
Click the link below to see more shots of the theater, and TONS of exterior shots showing the advertising campaigns for Aida and Traviata (Kaufmann & Angela pictures included)...
Tonight at the Bayerische Staatsoper, OC's girl Kate Aldrich will be Carmenreplacing Marina Domashenko in the title role; and Escamillo will be that guy who sired a child with Anna Netrebko, who anyway is by now accustomed to be upstaged by taller, more interesting women. o hai! it's Christian Van Horn singing Zuniga! It's like all my favorite singers rolled into one, big ~smoking~ production.
The production is the classic Wertmuller/Job Italian job.
