Salerno's Teatro Municipale Giuseppe Verdi announced its 2013 season yesterday -- a handful of concerts mixed with Rigoletto, Simon Boccanegra, Nabucco, Otello and La Boheme -- but guess what's going down with those bohemians?
Puccini's popular work, to be staged in three replications from December 28-30, will be cast from Youtube submissions. Artistic Director Daniel Oren called for young singers to be scouted by a yet-unannounced panel of judges. Details will be on the theater's facebook page starting next week.
