Today marks the international Holocaust day of remembrance. Italy's opera houses and symphony orchestras to memorialize the man-made trauma by organizing special concerts over the weekend.
You can read it here for Opera Chic's latest piece for Grazia.it's Stasera Esco.
A beautiful memorial for those who perished in the most horrendous period of the Twentieth Century. Bella, BELLA ITALIA, con mi amore!

I went to join the demonstration against --der Katholischen Studentenverbindung Ball--.
Vienna(Austria) has the ball season at that moment.
It was suspicious, they chose specially today for their ball on purpose to provoke the people who memorize the Holocaust internationally.
The ball was in the palace that we call Hofburg.
In front of the palace is a big garden. Normally I walk through there to get into the center of the city.
It is one of the most beautiful places to walk in Vienna.
Before there is a park where lots of kinds of roses bloom mainly in May.
But today the lovely place became with armed police men and women as if it were a fighting ground.
The demonstrators were not aggressive for my eyes, maybe because I joined them quite late just before 22:00 until midnight. There was one rather nostalgic hippie style young musicians group.
And the people there were quite harmless looking indeed except for a few people as I understood later.
I felt something is very wrong. It was rather like ,the police forces were protecting the --extreme rightists --in the palace there were merrely dancing rightists with the men in their uniforms. I honestly don't know what the girls are wearing?(and it's not important for these guys. Most important thing is the uniformed men for their attitude and mentality)
Anyway because of the armed policeforces with the shields to guard the front of the garden quite far from the palace, nobody could get near the palace.
Mein Gott, it's the same place where Beethoven's funeral march started! I walked all way home in the dark Vienna. Noncy

The World seems seething with dissatisfaction with the status quo. I am very alarmed at the violent police crackdowns on the "Occupy" demonstrations, protesting the economic disparity between the very, very rich and the very, very poor here in the U. S. I was a bit shocked to hear on the Fareed Zakaria GPS program on CNN that some believe that capitalism, like communism, is collapsing, especially in Europe. Are we beginning to experience the economic goetterdaemmerung of our time?(I wonder if there is some deeper purpose in recalling U. S. military from Iraq and Afhghanistan.)

@Bill, It is very good you mentioned this comment!
Yes, Europe has the danger what you described.
When we have the elections, I always try --the Blue(rightists)-- seats as small as --one single vote -- can make and choose rather the harmless party , however they are just too idealistic.
It's really very sad reality! Noncy
