Thank you for letting us know, OC.

So someone on another site claims the family has requested a "news blackout"? Or did they simply request privacy, which could also be announced in the paper? I think most people would fully respect and understand that.

Sadly it seems there is nothing new to report. I am going to trust there has been a reaching out privately to Mr. Licitra and his family by former/current employers and professional colleagues.

Mei:
I would not be surprised that the family has requested a "news blackout" in view of the circumstances. Frankly, I don't see this story having a happy ending. It may very well be a horrendous family decision on "if" or "when" to pull the plug. Very, very sad. One must feel for the family. It's a difficult and unbearable decision to make.
I've been through a similar scenario twice, once with my mother and again with my brother. Standing where they have stood, I can well understand their desire for a "news blackout".

Yes, I agree they might very well want to be left alone right now and people would understand completely. I'm very sorry for anyone who has had to go through the scenario you described.

I was only quoting a comment on another blog. I don't know if it was mentioned in any of the newspapers or not. I don't speak Italian.

I do hope this is not the situation for Mr. Licitra. Just extremely tragic, if it were so.

I think they are putting updates on his website now. No real change as of yet.

It's really sad that he's gone.
