I especially like the middle picture ... so lovely ghosties they are ( and Mr.Muti as one of them ;) .... as I could guess it was a very funny "MacBeth" ;)

A vampire maestro!

I'm glad that you have a different priority now, Riccardo!
Fullfil it, like a 40-year-old man would do instead of hiding it behind cynicism!
Vivere "dolce assai" come un vero Napoletano!

Dear Ian, I am glad you wrote a comment again after quite long silence.
It's a wonderful birthday present for him! Noncy

Thank you dear Noncy.
The maestro does not know how to use computers. He only reads newspapers to be informed about the news of the world.
However, there are always people around to tell him about our comments.

Oh, and a small detail.
Muti was not born on July 28th but a day before that, since his mamma went to the Register Office on the very next day after his birth.
The registrar was generous and decided to present the baby with a day less in his birth certificate.

Hehehe! Is Maestro licking off icing from the blade that cut his b'day cake? Many happy returns of the day! (No more falling off podiums and scaring the bejeezus out of us!)

Maestro, I wish you find yourself on the islands of the Aegean next summer enjoying the sun and the sound of cicadas on the pine trees by the sea instead of working in the cloudy and chilly Salzburg struggling for what?
It is ridiculous to do habitual actions that have nothing to add to your life but money that you already have more than enough!
Affectionately,
Alexander.

to Alexander ;) - I appreciate your panegyric on the case but I think you should state your individuality more clear and change your nick a little so that be more original in your expressions
(otherwise it looks like a regular plagiary ;)
Alexander ;))))

There will be no TV transmission of the Macbeth opera tonight by ORF for the first time! As far as I can understand from the article, this has been a common practice from the part of the maestro's environment. Is it because his beloved wife and manager has already sold the rights to some company to produce a DVD?
In any case, it is very bitter to see how things are going when greed occupies people's brains, especially the brains of those who claim that they do everything for the best of culture and friendship among nations.
Peter Stein and Vienna Philarmonic would have expected more sensitivity and prudence from the maestro and his wife-manager.

@c.s. I have read the article what you mentioned.
I don't want to believe that, but that sounds quite close to your opinion.
I also just read --der Standard 4th july 2011-- now.
My trustful critic L. Tosic is writing wonderful article about the Macbeth.
As long as I know , he has been quite hard about Muti.
But this time , he is highly praising him and W. Phil..
His voice is not same as the --bravi-- just from Muti's fans.
I was looking forward to listen and see it on the T.V., as I didn't manage to go to Salzburg because I am leaving for Italy now.
There must be lot of me! It's really sad.
Who is really doing that? I just sigh with bitterness.
It's a raining day again in Vienna. Noncy
