This time, we picked our top five classical music festivals slated to open in the next couple months of Italy's sunshine, picnics, and mosquitoes.
Of course, we couldn't list them all so honorable mentions go to the Puccini-fest at Torre del Lago and Festival di Cremona Claudio Monteverdi 2011 opening on April 30 with a recital by Barbara Hendricks.
It would be worth it to fly to Italy to hear Claudio Abbado alone. Thanks for the reminder that the classical music festival season is upon us!
