BBC Four's new opera documentary, Opera Italia, aired their first installment the other night with host Antonio Pappano, who took the audience on a tour around London, Mantova, Venice, Naples, and Pesaro. He traced the roots of Italian opera via Monteverdi, Händel, Mozart, and Rossini with the help of Juan Diego Florez and a handful of singers (including Mezzo Sarah Connolly who said "bewbs" on camera!)
