Opera Chic has a new neighbor, according to an exclusive report in "Corriere della Sera": Samuel Eto'o, the genius striker for our beloved Internazionale FC soccer team, just bought himself a penthouse on via Turati, downtown Milan, for a cool 17 million euros -- it's actually three separate apartments on the top floor that will be joined together (the construction of a swimming pool is also in the works) for a total 1,000 square meters, ie about 10,750 square feet.
Hot or goofy? Can't make up my mind.

He may be goofy looking but the man is loaded. I didn't know Milan real estate was that expensive.

Just think all of the poor people who scrape money together to go watch these guys play soccer and they just burn those €s up!
How about some charity, man?

The Achievement Motive ... he earned it, so he deserves to spend it!
By the way he's got many charities in Cameroon and Africa, and he is involved in charity with his team Inter Milan, UNESCO, UNICEF ...
Further, the 17 million euros estate is just as good as a real estate investment; he might just as well sell it in the future!
The pursuit of personal achievements is what creates human wealth (ask the capitalists!).
Some may say being from Africa he should think about the many poor in his continent but the fact is poverty in third world countries is caused by mismanagement not lack of resources or means. His wealth is just a drop in the ocean of resources that a country like Cameroon has. The more critical issue in doing away with poverty is the structural administration and management changes on how to better use resources. On the contrary, his achievement motive is a positive example for young men and women to strive to achieve!
Done with the social critique ...
