NYC non-profit arts organization, Sing for Hope, hosts an upcoming summer initiative called Play Me, I'm Yours. Play Me brings 60 pianos to the streets of NYC in an arts campaign disguised as a happening, which had success last year in London, São Paulo, Bristol, Birmingham, and Sydney. The pianos arrive to various locationns throughout NYC's five boroughs on June 21 but will be gone on July 5. Baritone Nathan Gunn is participating, in good company with board members Placido Domingo and Renée Fleming. We're not sure that it would work (for lots of reasons) in Milan, but OC would be all over it.
why wouldn't it work in milan?

How strange that Gunn, Domingo and Fleming are involved in this. They are usually so serious about their operatic work and prone to ignore these frivolous things...

I support this idea. The only thing to say to boot "we want Kiri";))))

Benefit orgs are not frivolous walter. Though I'm sure the only thing you'd ever find important is to prove how above everything you are.

@Alexander: Didn't Dame Kiri just "finish it off" the other night up in Germany? I think that was it.
I understand she really blew them away.
God bless her and her intelligence!

to Mr. Walter;) - She finished singing full opera ,perhaps, but I have some doubts she will finish to sing recitals and educational activities. It is she who can give people real intelligence and right musical culture, especially for the youth. So, she can offer them charm and the beauty of her voice, right musical accents and good manners (i.e. bring them joy) - and they can give her their sincere enthusiasm and light energy (i.e. bring her joy in response ;))) Fair exchange.
P.S. Actually, when I write my comments down I always have something "behind the scene", it is, so to speak, "ombra mai FACH (using your lovely language ;))))".
P.P.S. I'm listening to her "Vissi D'Arte" at the moment ;) though I don't like Verdi as much, as, let's say, Donizetti or Mozart (Bellini is also fine) - her voice is a thing in itself. Very fine, rather in figurative meaning. Fine voice can trigger only fine soul vibrations; New York (as I could hear ;) is a cranky city with harsh vibes - so it wouldn’t be out of place for them to have some things of fine nature to bring themselves to a balance ;))))
I am very good in logic albeit don't like it ;)
