This Tuesday, December 1, host Sergio Mims will be spreading some Henze Werner Henze -- aka the greatest living composer -- love on his classical music radio show, playing a recording of HWH's Ninth Symphony. You can tune in on WHPK-FM in Chicago (88.5 FM) and on-line on www.whpk.org (12 noon - 3PM U.S. Central time).
Henze's Ninth Symphony, a choral work set to the poetry of Hans-Ulrich Treichel in seven movements, was written in 1997, based on the novel The Seventh Cross by Anna Seghers.
Great picture, he looks like a bada$$

O.C.
THANKS! I really didn't expect the plug. I truly aprreciate it. The recording of the Henze I'll be broadcasting is the brand new recording on the Wergo lebel with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Berlin Radio Chorus conducted by Marek Janowski which was recorded last November at the Philharmonie.
The recording will be played during the second half of my show Tuesday.
