Norman Lebrecht reports that the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra has elected British-born Karel Mark Chichon as their new Chief Conductor & Artistic Director. Latvian mezzo, Elīna Garanča, is no doubt proud that her husband is nestling into her birth city, Riga. KMC was the orchestra's Honorary Guest Conductor since 2007.
