Tomorrow night's Carnegie Hall Opening Night Gala with the Boston Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by that Milanese powerhouse Daniele Gatti.
Gatti replaces James Levine, who yesterday announced his absence from all Fall performances to recover from looming back surgery on a herniated disc.
Berlioz's Roman Carnival overture will be replaced by Beethoven's Coriolan overture.
OC will be there tomorrow night in an Inter jersey, which she'll wear over her Miu Miu dress.
What an upgrade (no offense to Levine). I love Levine like every other New Yorker, but to hear Gatti conduct symphony in New York is a rare treat.

Kissin's still in the program, right? Too bad they didn't do away with the John Williams work. Too banal for words.

New Yorkers are lucky Gatti was in town for Aida (which I've heard, after last night's dress rehearsal, is still going to be a hard sell despite the pageantry and spectacle).

You gonna put on that blue/black jersey?? After Inter lost one and then drew another game this week? :P
But I do envy them to have such a devoted fan... Enjoy the show, OC!

Hopfully NYC will fall in love with him and keep him there!

We, the legion of OC minions, look forward to the pix.
We really do!
