My French is a little rusty, but does he really compare himself to Caruso? The nerve.

Renée = he just compare himself to Don Giovanni. He "just" wants to conquest all Opera House around the world, while doing cross over in the same time (see or ear his record Sicilien)and keeping fidelity of all his public. For Caruso he just explains he pays an homage (tribute ?) to him. So in france, we call that "The melon" alias very very very big head. Ans so modest. Don't worry about it, as long as he can go through the doors without any empeachment, he will go on ... and that probably until he will finds his own limits i suppose.

"The absolute king of bel canto"?... please... really? I don't think so...

According to my read of the Google translation (probably almost as amusing as the article itself) Caruso AND Don Juan.
Whoa (to quote Keanu Reeves)
I think douche is the perfect word.

Is he suffering from dementia? He also looks like he's put on about twenty pounds. He's kinda of getting fat.

In defense of the title, wouldn't a more accurate translation be "the tenor of tenors"?
Of course, this also doesn't hold true...

he says, sorry, pay an hommage to Caruso, at the age of 46, and did not compare himself to Caruso, who died at 48. But, if google translation is better than a native french ....

But, see everyone is talking about him.
Publicity is publicity and it can get someone quite far considering how many stupid people trust the ink or Internet rather than their own ears.
Please tell me, why the fabulous Senor Vargas rarely gets "media attention"?

I can't get to the francesoir site; my computer tells me "operation aborted". Is this due to heavy traffic or has the link gone down or what?

Google translation is so bad it's amusing. That was my point. Also just listened to a youtube clip of RA singing "Deh Vieni a la Finestra -- if you really want to hear something bad.......http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHpwaVWF5lU
