Cinéma vérité maestro Frederick Wiseman -- who's so cool that even Jean Luc Godard bows down to his majesty -- has made another ballet film after his awesome 1995 documentary appropriately called "Ballet".
It's "La Danse -- Le Ballet de l'Opera de Paris", and opens this October in Europe and in November in the U.S.

Yeah, Wiseman is the man! I once met him, and I especially liked his refusal to comment on or "explain" his films. He simply said: "My films have to speak for themselves." And isn't that what we miss when being confronted with bad opera productions? I don't care whether they're modern or classic productions, but they should definitely speak for themselves.
