Diane Haithman helpfully points out that the LA Opera's Rheingold that opens Saturday night in L.A. is long but not that long -- it clocks in at 2 hrs 45 mins, ie two minutes less than The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button (another difference: Brad Pitt is not a Nazi).
