When Alex Met Alma: "Frühlingsbegräbnis" Will Change Your Life, Too
In her one-girl campaign to spread the good news of the (mostly forgotten) wonder of Alexander Zemlinsky's music, Opera Chic is today happy to show Frühlingsbegräbnis. That is not just a heartbreakingly beautiful piece of music, as most of poor Alex's artistic output is. Its premiere also represents a milestone in twentieth-century music. And, if you're in the dating pool, a significant cautionary tale:
And Alma had the hots for Alex, though he resembled a cross between a toad and a beetle. So there is hope for anyone ! Great clip, more please. There are at least 2 Zem fans out here.

A little Brahms, a little Cilea, stir and bake...
The result? Gorgeous!
