Opera Ice Queen: Snøhetta Awesomeness Gives Birth To The New Oslo Opera Haus
The new opera house in Oslo, built at a cost of about $700 million, designed by Snøhetta (the d00ds who designed the new Alexandria Library in Egypt and the Serpentine Gallery Pavillion in Hyde Park, London) boasts a white Italian marble exterior, and will be inaugurated on April 12. Ah, but it's aging before it's time, isn't it? The marble is yellowing. Marble being a very porous material as it is.
