"OhMeinGott Angela Merkel Is A MILF": German Press Appalled After Oslo Opera Haus Display Of Bundeskanzler (o) (o)
Last December 7, when we saw Angela Merkel at la Scala's premiere of Tristan, she was dressed more conservatively; the other night in Oslo, though, at the inauguration of the new opera house we blogged about last week, Big Angela chose to flaunt some serious bewbage: in the AFP photo above, Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg with Scandinavian coolness manages not to ogle while La Merkel shows the operagoing Oslo peeps some serious Teutonic strength.
It's indeed obvious that Otto von Bismarck never would have done this. Thankfully, we add.
The German papers we skinned online this morning seem to be at the very least ambivalent. La Angela is rightly baffled. Unlike the Puritanical German press, as a pro-opera, pro-women, pro-bewbs blog, we happily endorse the new l00k.
Now she just needs to lose the bowl cut and we're defintely getting somewhere.
Pop-up picture below for the more scientifically minded readers:
Not that anybody cares at this point, but, bewbs aside, the main operatic attraction at the inauguration was Maria Guleghina:

Ah, so George W. Bush was really aiming for teh bewbage when he gave Ms. Merkel that uncalled for shoulder rub last year.

Ms. Merkel looks delightful in royal blue.
Besides, if a woman her age can't show cleavage without gaskets being blown around the world... then no one alive can recall Miami Beach during the 60's.

Hullo there, love the blog: I noticed someone's been stealing & recycling your stuff for a few days now without credit. Is that par for the course in opera blogging? Love, Joe

Oh, it's all good!
Recycling saves the planet (and the bloggers who don't have much stuff of their own)!

The MILF concept is taking over the world!

Please help: what is a MILF?
Posted by: Renee | April 15, 2008 at 01:16 AM
Renee, it's an acronym for an attractive woman who's old enough to have teenage kids.
When in doubt, just look stuff up on Urban Dictionary -- that is Not Safe For Work for spicy language, though.

OC, thank you so much for your advice on MILF and urban dictionary. You opened up a whole new world for me. Urban dictionary's definition makes so much more sense than the one I got from a friend: " MILF - Militant Intellectual Left-wing Fanatic." I couldn't figure out what that had to do with Angela's ample bosom. Thanks for the clarification!!!!!!!
Also, I just LOVE your blog and faithfully visit it once a day.

Obviously Photoshopped, and not very competently at that. Note the color and texture of Merkel's skin around her pearls and compare the skin below that line showing the cleavage.
Pamela Anderson Lee, perhaps?

I agree with Renee. Definitely photoshopped. See the real thing here:
