Roberto Facci Sognare
At the Marseille Opera excitement is, like, off tha hook for the imminent prémiere of Marius Et Fanny (the opera, not the bakery): starring post-op Roberto Alagna, who says that the Vladimir Cosma (ie the dude who scored Diva and, regretfully, those frightening Sophie Marceau early-80s teen flicks) opera makes him "dream".
Since RA, for all his bad choices, remains the (heavily) more talented half of the Gheorghiu family, and we'd just like to see a big comeback from him, if he chooses the right roles and tries to ditch his marginally talented brothers and sticks to what he does best, ie actual (not-Cosma) French opera and -- carefully -- some Verdi, well, a heartfelt "in bocca al lupo!" to Roburto.
Well, after being conned and then ultra-poison-penned for nearly 3 years
by a completely-trusted presumably-insider source, I am now much more likely to believe your comments on RA, then I previously thought possible. In particular, that part about the more talented half of the duo!
What's the deal about the marriage, first ...? (does it really make any difference if they are married?)I was told that the marriage was over - and property disposed - presumably in the public record -by my former confidante. Again, does it matter? If RA still performs well, it is somewhat the nail in the coffin of my formerly trusted confidante.

Above all it is going to be a creation by a popular composer and someone cheerful ,so it is most promising and this is happening in Marseilles !!! And I will burn a candle at la Bonne Mère (the famous church overlooking the bay and protecting sailors by popular tradition) if the couple Alagna sing through the entire production.(there is a second cast already, so that would be easier ...) I'm booked for the last ,Sept 13Th...Still, I cannot stop thinking about Rolando and all the more when I see the Mexican flag floating next to marseilles opera as the mexican consulate is right there , nostalgia, dear O.C , any news on your side ??

Oh-oh-- could this be the first step towards a Broadway revival of Harold Rome's FANNY, with RA ??? ;-)
