The Drama Llama Goes Back To Its Stable

0112_dramallama01

Now that Opera Chic has decided to bravely cave in to la Scala's lawyers requests -- the side with the tens-of-millions-of-euros of mostly government money budget won, in a surprising upset-- she is free to go back to her third favorite activity after shopping and going to the opera...which would be blogging.

The new logo is up, the old one's is now a precious b00tleg jpeg being secretly traded by opera fans, collectors of internet memorabilia and p2p geeks, the low-fidelity grainy non-flash shots taken by Opera Chic of singers and conductors bowing to applause after La Scala performances are soon to be gone, too, and La Scala media kit images are in the process of being completely removed, to meet the La Scala deadline of June 10 (but we have almost 700 posts to comb through, so it's real work, and it interferes with our gym, spa, and aperitivo schedule).

Opera Chic would like to thank all the readers who commented and wrote, and all the fellow bloggers who took interest in her destino crudele. There's no way she'll ever be able to repay the generous, free legal advice coming from her readers who are opera fans by vocations and lawyers (in very impressive firms, we must say) by trade -- she didn't know so many practitioners of the legal field had time to devote to classical music and would so generously offer their pro bono services to a blogger girl. But as we said, we're not fighting this in the least -- who cares about the logo and about some crappy low resolution images, really.

But thanks anyway.

New opera posts coming very soon later today.

Sorry bout La Scala. I went there as a poor kid. true story. i was studying in florence, went to milan for the first time to go to figaro. couldn't afford accom. after the show and had to wander the streets all night like a punk. didnt care, i thought it was worth it. that wasn't a problem. what was a problem was the fact that after the curtain calls i couldn't find the little plastic tag for my jacket in the cloakroom. well, little did i realize that this was a capitol offence. i was taken around to some office, lectured by a group of ... goons, forced to pay what was to me a substantial amount of lira, taken out the back and thrown into the gutter, my jacket hurled down into a puddle of mud next to me. good P.R.

Aaaaah Milady, the website would be ordinaire without the occasional sighting of the best of show Drama Llama ;-)

Crew Mantle, now that the drama llama is being led back to its little grassy bed of hay, it was nice to have your unique crewmantley voice back!

Fools! Why do so many musical institutions these days have the will to fail? Still, it's heartwarming to see you react to this insult with the grace and inner strength that La Scala are clearly lacking. They should count themselves lucky you still permit them to bask in your reflected glory. And that you can plug their upcoming season for them when their website falls over.
